Well it took a little bit of doing but we did it! Our first meal from Miss Mocha’s eggs! Her eggs are…(shhh don’t tell her) a little on the small side. But each one is just perfect and just look at this….
A meal fit for a king… and he enjoyed it too! Mike is the official “Guardian of the Hens”! He is out there fussing over them more than I am some days and it is such a joy to see him so attentive to them. It is only fitting that he should have the first meal from their first eggs (: The baby squash with blossoms came from our Thursday Morning Farmer’s Market… yuuuummmmyyy! Our favorite farmer also sells mushrooms he harvests from his forest…very interesting… I mixed some of those in with some of his onions…perfect!
If you have a market close by I highly recommend you make friends with a couple farmers (look for friendly ones), go out to visit their farms and get to know them, and plan to buy something when you go! So fun!!!
Note the cast iron skillet/plate warmer… why waste all that good heat (:
